West Jordan Symphony presents an evening celebrating outstanding soloists and ensemble musicians in a dynamic concert featuring both intimate performances and full symphony accompaniment.
The program includes an orchestral opening by Dr. Durrant of the University of Utah, alongside a rich selection of works spanning Baroque elegance, Romantic intensity, and 20th-century color.
Featured performances include soloists and ensembles on flute, oboe, violin, cello, piano, and classical guitar. Highlights include concertos and orchestral works by Domenico Cimarosa, Henryk Wieniawski, Edward Elgar, Gabriel Fauré, and Joaquín Rodrigo, along with solo piano music by Francis Poulenc and unaccompanied violin by Johann Sebastian Bach.
The concert also features a newly composed chamber work for flute trio by Linda Pratt, highlighting the creativity of local artists alongside celebrated masterworks.
