Audition to perform in the West Jordan Symphony’s 2026 Solo & Ensemble Showcase. Selected soloists will perform on February 28, 2026, at the Canyon View CU Community & Arts Center in West Jordan.

About

Instrumentalists—soloists, duos, trios, quartets, and small chamber groups—are invited to audition for a chance to perform in the West Jordan Symphony’s annual Solo & Ensemble Showcase. This is a supportive and encouraging opportunity to share your artistry and collaborate with the symphony in performance.

Who Can Audition

  • Open to community musicians and West Jordan Symphony members.

  • Solos, duos, trios, quartets, and small chamber ensembles are welcome (typically up to 10 players).

Repertoire & Time Limits

  • Prepare one movement or short work, up to 10 minutes in length.

  • Concertos are allowed, but Director approval is required prior to audition if you wish to be considered for a concerto performance with the symphony.

Accompaniment & Concerto Policy

  • The symphony will not accompany auditions.

  • A piano will be available; please provide your own accompanist if needed.

  • Musicians wishing to perform a concerto with full symphony accompaniment must receive Director approval before auditioning.

    • Email your concerto title, movement(s), score, and instrumentation (orchestration) for review.

    • If you do not have prior approval for your concerto from the Director, your audition will still be heard, but you may not be selected as a performer in this year’s showcase.

    • If you are selected to perform a concerto with the West Jordan Symphony, you must provide the symphony with the required music materials:

      • Full conductor’s score and complete orchestral parts

      • Supplied as hard copies or digital files of public-domain editions or legally purchased/licensed materials

      • Parts must be legible, complete, and include all movements/cues to be performed

        • Deadline: Please provide materials within 7 days of selection (earlier is appreciated) so our librarians can prepare and distribute parts.

        • Note: If your edition is under copyright, you are responsible for purchasing/renting and supplying the legal parts/score (including any rental fees). Selections may be reconsidered if materials cannot be legally obtained in time.
